The Temporary Tattoo Parlour
Commissioned by GOSH Arts, artist Davina Drummond collaborated with young people at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and tattoo artist Ella Bell to create a limited edition set of temporary tattoos as a reminder that not all experiences or situations, especially when in hospital are permanent.
Historically tattoos have served as decorations of bravery, pledges of love and hope, celebrations of achievements and as reminders of important events. The discussions and limited edition that came out of a series of workshops allowed young people to reflect on the techniques they use to cope with their illness; process their hospital experience and share the challenges of living with ongoing health conditions.
Through a collaboration with Artfelt, the Temporary Tattoo Parlour will be situated at Sheffield Children’s Hospital on Friday 2nd 2.00 - 5.00.
A version of The Temporary Tattoo Parlour will also appear at Theatre Deli on Thurs 1st 12.30 - 2.00.
