AALFY: 108 The Moor
How do you make a city fun? Taking the concept of the Playable City, Ar’ City uses ‘creative tech’ interventions made by young people to prompt citizens to re-think everyday moments and form memorable shared experiences.
Initially a means for young people in Sheffield to have a voice and express their perception of the city through art and design, the project has grown to become a 2-week festival launching in 2019. Ar’ City Festival of Creativity is led by young people across the city, supported by local businesses and for is all Sheffield folk.
Join some of the team in an Open Studio event at 108 The Moor on Thursday 1st of November to explore project ideas and installations including the Teleportation Booth, Starlight, the Sheffield People’s Diary and much more.
Ar’ City is led by AALFY and co-produced in collaboration with young people from The Sheffield College, Longley Park college and the University of Sheffield School of Architecture.
AALFY introduces learning experiences based on creativity, enterprise and digital opportunities for marginalised groups of young people and adults to become enterprising, resilient, adaptable and agile individuals. We want to develop each individual’s agency so that they can improve decision making and overcome obstacles. Ultimately becoming a well-rounded individual who feels independent with a sense of purpose and role in the wider community.
