Open Call: 'Cards on the Table' - Ania Bas

  • Site Gallery (Project Space) 1 Brown Street Sheffield S1 2BS (map)

Cards on the Table is a game for artists, community collaborators, activists, curators, producers, project managers, commissioners and others working in the social realm. It is a game that helps players think and talk critically about a specific project that they are working on. Made up of quotes on themes such as collaboration, administration, reputation, autonomy, aesthetics, critique, money and agency, the game provokes discussion about doubts, fears and hopes in an open way with peers. The goal of this game is to be honest about the different agendas, priorities and values embedded in projects, encouraging players to listen and to adapt.

Cards on the Table has been devised by Ania Bas, Sophie Hope, Sophie Mallett and Siân Hunter Dodsworth.
